Join University of Wisconsin-Madison European Studies in congratulating the major achievement of one of its founding Directors, Professor Gilles Bousquet, who has just been made Honorary Consul General of France by the French Republic’s Consulate General in Chicago.
Gilles Bousquet is currently Associate Chair of the French and Italian Department at UW-Madison and Senior Advisor to the President of the UW System for International Economic Development.
Honorary Consuls play an important diplomatic role and are selected for their expert cultural, economic and political knowledge of a region.
